New preprint from the lab

Our new preprint presents a project led by Marina and initiated by our former PhD student Monica, in collaboration with Maria Rostovskaya and Peter Rugg-Gunn’s lab in Cambridge. The focus of the project is enhancers in the poised chromatin state: the intermediate state between ‘on’ and ‘off’ assumed by many tissue-specific enhancers in pluripotent stem cells. Enhancers in this state are abundantly connected to the promoters of developmental genes. Combining bespoke Poised Enhancer Capture Hi-C with molecular perturbations during the naive-to-primed transition of human pluripotent stem cells, we provide some clues to when, how and why these contacts emerge.
